For the average backpacker, the ultimate goal is to escape everyday realities, see the world and meet awesome people. Therefore, exploring the techno scenes in each city that you visit is a must-do, letting you delve into the mutual escapism of a techno dance floor across the centres of the scene in Europe.
Barcelona
Starting in Barcelona, famous for the party being all night long, this world-renowned Party-city has an equally, world-renowned underground techno scene that you just can't miss out on. Razzmatazz is an unmissable venue, known for its electronic music, specifically its Human Club, which takes place on Saturdays. This is the beating heart of the techno and rave scene in Barcelona and a must-visit for any budget backpacker seeking the ultimate techno spots.
Make sure to stay in our Barcelona hostel to be at the heart of the action.
Berlin
A well-known hot spot of the European EDM scene, Berlin is a city for ravers (and much more but today we’re here for you). Most famously, you can try your luck in the Berghain line, famous for its rejections. For the best chances at entry, keep track of the line on the Berghain Line Live Instagram page, wear black, know who is playing that night and keep your phone out of sight (you don’t want to seem too Instagram crazy). If you don’t make it in, you don't need to worry, in Berlin, there is an endless list of places to get your techno hit. We recommend OHM and Watergate .

Amsterdam
Next, Amsterdam is famous for having one of the best nightlife in the world. Its techno scene is rumoured to be growing to rival that of Berlins’, however, you can decide for yourself. Step into its techno scene at Club John Doe , techno Thursdays at Panama or Shelter , spectacularly located inside the famous A’dam Tower.

London
Finally, the last techno hot spot on this list is, of course, London. There has been a lot of talk about Fabric, a well-known techno club in Farringdon that offers a range of drum and bass, house and techno to fill your nights. Alternatively, for something less popular, Electrowerkz is self-named as a “fun factory” in the heart of London. A unique experience for any curious traveller is their Slimelight , an electro, dark scene night that regularly hosts ‘the best DJs and performances from the dark scene’.
